PACMUN 2023

Honorable Head Delegates and Advisors,

Riverside Community College District Model UN is proud to announce it will be hosting its fourth annual Practice Academic Conference for Model UN (PACMUN)! The Conference will be held in person on Saturday, November 4th, 2023. This conference will be a great experience for many students new to Model UN that are interested in learning about and practicing the skills necessary for success in future Model UN conferences, such as NMUN-Germany and NMUN-DC.

For this conference, we will be simulating two committees, GA and SC.

  • General Assembly Plenary | Science, Technology, and Innovation for Sustainable Development
  • Security Council | Strengthening Women’s Resillience and Leadership as a Path to Peace in Regions Plagued by Armed Groups

Background guides on these topics with in-depth explanation and research tips are available in the Committees & Topics page. There will be $15/per student fee for this conference which covers breakfast and lunch. Conference will run from 9:00am-5:00pm with an hour for lunch, which we will provide, including vegetarian choices upon request. We will be following National Model UN rules (NMUN rules).

Please register through our ‘registration‘ page. Please note that assignments will be distributed on a first-come, first serve basis. When you register please let us know if you have any preferred countries. We will strive to ensure each delegation receives a diverse list of country assignments in addition to meeting your requested countries. Each country will be represented by a single delegate in both committees. We will be sure to provide a map, rules, logistics, parking information, and the conference schedule as the conference date approaches and post it on Conference Logistics.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have in regards to PACMUN through our ‘Contact‘ page. As always, we strive to provide students with the skills necessary for success in future conferences and to continue our traditions of academic and professional excellence across Southern California. Thank you for your time and interest and we look forward to seeing you and your delegation in November!

Sincerely,

The RCCD Model United Nations Team
